Norte Collection

Bajo el auspicio de la Fundación Hewlett, el Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos y Fronterizos de New Mexico State University (NMSU), El Colegio de la Frontera Norte (Colef) y la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ)  anuncian la creación de la Serie Paso del Norte: Integrando la Región.

El fin de dicha serie es la publicación y distribución de textos de primera calidad que desarrollen temas acerca de la región fronteriza de Las Cruces, Nuevo México, El Paso, Texas y Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua y sus habitantes en las áreas de artes y humanidades, ciencias sociales, ciencias naturales e ingeniería.

              pastillas de menta, jabón rosa venus.
Duele imaginar que otro enjabone su cuerpo con
              mayor suavidad.

The Center for Latin American and Border Studies at New Mexico State University (NMSU), the Colegio de la Frontera Norte (Colef) and the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), under the auspices of the Hewlett Foundation, have undertaken the creation of the Paso del Norte: Integrating the Region publication series.

The goal of the series is to publish and distribute works of the highest quality that deal with topics related to the Las Cruces, New Mexico, El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua border region and its inhabitants, covering the arts and humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and engineering.

"Several weeks later, Modesto arrives al valle de Mesilla, his new home for the duration of the war, carrying a small suitcase holding his small wooden fire truck and four-car wooden train. Tobbie has decided, against Galvino's advice, to go to California and be closer to him. She says she can find work in one of the new military factories for the duration of the war. How long that will take is anybody's guess. She leaves Modest in limbo; standing by the old highway, el camino de Chihuahua, as he watches Tobbie vanish into a wake of dust as the car disappears.
