The North American Development Bank, a bi-national bank created to help fund infrastructure along the border as part of the NAFTA, announced plans to finance the construction of one thousand houses for workers in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and Laredo, Texas. According to the Mayor of Nuevo Laredo, Saul Ramirez, the bi-national project will take no more than 5 years to complete. Under the terms of the project, 500 houses will be constructed in each community and will be made available to low income families at long-term, low-interest rates.
