U.S. SENATOR PROPOSES BORDER EXPRESS LANE

Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison introduced a proposal in the U.S. Senate to construct an express lane between El Paso and Juarez in order to resolve long lines at the current border crossings. At a recent border infrastructure meeting in San Antonio, Senator Hutchison said that El Paso would be included in an $11 million proposal to build 5 international crossings. Hutchison's proposed express lane would be for private citizens of both cities who cross the border daily. As part of the proposal, the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service will the study the needs at the border crossings to gain an overall view.
