The State Government of Chihuahua has finished a study on obtaining development funds from the Interamerican Development Bank and the World Bank to construct a wastewater treatment plant in Ojinaga and to develop a "Water for Everyone" program in Ciudad Juarez. The Coordinator for Planning with the State, Elias Saad Ayub stated it is estimated that $30 million pesos will be invested in the treatment plant in Ojinaga, while $20 million dollars will need to be raised for the program in Juarez.
Mr. Saad stated in a press release that they are already counting on a $10 million dollar offer and that he and the head of the State Economic Development Department, Enrique Terrazas, would be traveling to Washington in early September to negotiate support for the development funds from the governmental institutions and North American creditors.
