The Federal Register of Elections in Mexico (Registro Federal de Electores, RFE) has registered 26,223 more citizens for upcoming elections in the three Ciudad Juarez districts; 5 percent more than were registered to vote in local elections last year.

In the U.S. more than 6 million Latinos are registered to vote in the presidential elections to be held on November 5, an increase of approximately a million new voters. In California alone, more than 2.1 million Latinos have registered to vote, up from 1.5 million in 1992. Texas has seen an increase in Latino registrations from 1.2 million in 1992 to 1.6 million in 1996. California and Texas account for more than two-thirds of the total Latino vote in the United States.
